Pat Soan's book, "Teach Me to Make My First Quilt" will be used as the instructional guide for this 8 week series of classes.  You will construct a 9 block sampler quilt!
During this Quilting Skills series, you will be introduced to the basics of quilting, including:
  • Tools for Quilters
  • Common Quilting Terms
  • Reading a Pattern
  • Choosing Fabric
  • Cutting Fabric
  • Sewing & Pressing
  • Completing Blocks
  • Sewing Sashing and Borders
  • Assembling a quilt sandwich (top, backing, batting)
  • Binding your quilt

Skill Details:
This class is designed for those who have never made a quilt; for those who have quilted in the past and would like to fine tune their skills; and for those who are self-taught and would like some hands on, personal instruction.
Materials Included:
Ironing station with irons will be available in the classroom
Requirements:
Class participants must be familiar with their sewing machine and how it works. If you need instruction on use of your machine, or if you need to use a shop machine, please make arrangements with the instructor prior to the class start date.

Grace has been sewing and quilting for over 40 years. She has been teaching sewing and quilting classes for many years and is a long arm quilter. She encourages everyone to work at their own pace and enjoys sharing the craft of sewing and quilting with everyone, wherever they are on their journey.
