Pat Soan's book, "Teach Me to Make My First Quilt" will be used as the instructional guide for this 8 week series of classes. You will construct a 9 block sampler quilt! During this Quilting Skills series, you will be introduced to the basics of quilting, including:
Tools for Quilters
Common Quilting Terms
Reading a Pattern
Choosing Fabric
Cutting Fabric
Sewing & Pressing
Completing Blocks
Sewing Sashing and Borders
Assembling a quilt sandwich (top, backing, batting)
Binding your quilt

This class is designed for those who have never made a quilt; for those who have quilted in the past and would like to fine tune their skills; and for those who are self-taught and would like some hands on, personal instruction.
Materials Included:
Ironing station with irons will be available in the classroom
Requirements:
Class participants must be familiar with their sewing machine and how it works. If you need instruction on use of your machine, or if you need to use a shop machine, please make arrangements with the instructor prior to the class start date.
